Coolsculpting
CoolSculpting is a procedure that is known for freezing the fat away. The treatment is non-invasive and painless. The area of concern is sucked into a vacuum chamber of the CoolSculpting machine and exposed to very cold temperatures (at about 4 degrees Celsius).
This method aims to get rid of stubborn fat in certain parts of your body. The method is known as cryolipolysis. Fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than skin, the cryolipolysis device freezes your fat to a temperature that destroys the fat cells, leaving your skin and other tissues unharmed. The results are not visible immediately after the procedure is performed since the body takes time to eliminate the dead fat cells.
How Is The Procedure Performed And How Long Will My Results Last?
The entire procedure would begin with a consultation to figure out if you would be a good candidate by discussing your eating and exercise habits. Then, the specialist would discuss your problem area and possible solutions to treat it. After the discussion and an appointment are scheduled, the area for treatment will be marked so the CoolSculpting machine is accurately placed. A thin gel pack will be placed on the treatment area to protect the skin that is on the problem area. The treatment time of the area will vary due to the different areas of concern, lasting up to 3 hours at most for a specific area. After the procedure, there is no downtime for recuperation, leaving you able-bodied to return to your normal routine. Results may begin to be visible after about 3 weeks, and the full results may be seen after about 3 months. If you maintain your healthy lifestyle, the results may last a lifetime. After the age of about 18, the body stops producing the natural fat cells, different from the fat cells that are gained from an unhealthy lifestyle.
What Should I Tell My Doctor/Specialist, And What Should I Avoid Before The Procedure?
To avoid bruising, try to avoid certain medications (such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and Aleve), vitamin E, fish oil, gingko, and alcohol since these can all thin your blood. Be aware that the closer you are to the goal weight, the better your results will be. Other than that, there are no activities or habits needed to prep for the treatment.
What Are The Side Effects Of CoolSculpting?
During the treatment, you may experience some side effects as a result of the vacuum effect or the temperature that the treatment area is exposed to. Some of the effects include tingling, pulling/tugging, intense cold, pinching, and cramping. After the area is exposed to the treatment for some time, the effects subside after the area becomes numb. After receiving the CoolSculpting procedure, you may experience some side effects. Some of them include tenderness, bruising, aches, and sensitivity. The side effects are temporary, and they tend to diminish anywhere between a couple of days to weeks after the procedure.
Am I A Good Candidate For CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting can be performed among a wide variety of ages and gender. If you are worried that you aren’t a good candidate for the procedure because you’ve never had a cosmetic treatment, then there is no need to worry because you may still be a candidate! Those who have an overall healthy lifestyle and are within 13.6 kg of their goal weight are the best candidates. If you think that you may qualify for the CoolSculpting procedure.
