How is the Procedure Performed?
There are different ways the procedure is done depending upon the area of concern. You would discuss what can be done to solve the insecurity with Dr. Pancholi. He might start by applying a topical cream to the area of concern to avoid any discomfort. Then the injections will be done. If the area of concern is the lips, they will be done from the outermost part of the lips to the inside. If smile lines are a concern, the injections will be placed in the crease to add volume, allowing them to blend in to the rest of the skin on your face. If the cheeks are a concern, three circles will be drawn on each cheek, and an injection will be done in each one.
What Should I Discuss with my Doctor?
You should inform your doctor if you are taking any medicine that can prolong bleeding, taking medicine or going through therapy that may weaken immune system, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What Should I Expect?
Juvederm is a volume-adding filler. After going through the procedure, one may expected added volume. In addition, the product may even last up to a year. Some side effects may include tenderness, swelling, redness, and bruising which may only last for a short period of time.
